The most important element of my fourth year has been my dissertation: ‘Witches & Wordsmiths: Exploring the Historical Intersections Between Gender, Language and Power.” I am absorbed by the links between magic and language, the similarities between the sorcerer and the storyteller, the creating of an idea and the summoning of spirits. This year I have explored these ideas in illustrations, paintings, writing, poetry, 3D work, sound, music, and a hypothetical play.
